Welcome to Power Hour!

4 Teammates - 12 Workouts - 1 Hour

October 10 & 11, 2025

What is Power Hour?

Power Hour is a competition that involves 12 workouts split amongst a team of 4 (2 females and 2 males), all done in 1 hour.

What to expect:

  • RX and Scaled options for each of the 12 workouts.

  • Individual & teams of 2, 3 and 4 style workouts.

  • Teams will be ranked on one leaderboard by their scores in each workout.

  • Workouts can be any length between 30 seconds and 14 minutes.

  • Each heat will have 3 teams. Once a heat is sold out, that time will no longer be available.

The whole competition in 1 hour?!

Yup! This whole competition is 60 minutes for time. Each team will have 1 hour to complete as many of the 12 workouts as possible. Workouts can be done in any order except for the strength events which must be done first. We will have 9 heats with 3 teams in each heat. Three heats on Friday (3:30pm, 5pm, 6:30pm) and six heats on Saturday (7am, 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm).

Workouts are designed to take 3-8 minutes and the team shares the load so no 1 person will be doing all 12 workouts.

Friday’s Schedule:

Heat 1: 3:30pm-4:30pm

Heat 2: 5:00pm-6:00pm

Heat 3: 6:30pm-7:30pm

Saturday’s Schedule:

Heat 4: 7:00am-8:00am

Heat 5: 8:30am-9:30am

Heat 6: 10:00am-11:00am

Heat 7: 11:30am-12:30pm

Heat 8: 1:00pm-2:00pm

Heat 9: 2:30pm-3:30pm

RX & SCALED Options

Each workout has scaled and RX options, however there will only be 1 leaderboard.

This means that instead of having a scaled leaderboard, we will instead use a handicap for choosing scaled over RX. Such as, 3 minutes of added time to your “For Time” workouts or 30 reps taken off of your final “AMRAP” score.

This can be a part of your strategy to finish the most workouts. For example, if Workout 6 will take you 12 minutes to finish RX, but 6 minutes to finish scaled, then choosing scaled and having an adjusted score of 9 minutes is better than 12 minutes.

Most teams don’t get to all 12 workouts, not doing a workout results in a last place finish for that workout.

Strategy & Fitness

It doesn’t get more strategic than this: balancing all 12 workouts as Scaled, RX’d, or a mix… deciding which teammate tackles what, and how much each person can handle without burning out. Then there’s how you’ll split the reps, transition smoothly, and communicate when someone needs a break, all in a tight 60 minute window.

Needless to say, the fittest team doesn’t always win.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we do workouts simultaneously?

No, only 1 workout can be done at a time and any teammates not involved in the workout must stand behind the rower.

Can we do the workouts in any order?

The 4 individual strength workouts must be completed first (in any order). Then the remaining 8 workouts can be completed in any order.

Are we able to warm-up before the clock starts?

Absolutely, we encourage you to come in 30-60 minutes before your heat time to warm-up and plan for your heat.

Can a workout be completed by some members of my team as RX while other members do scaled?

No, the whole team must either choose to do any given workout RX or Scaled.

Can 1 workout be completed as scaled and the next one be completed as RX?

Yes, you can complete one workout as RX and the next as scaled, i.e. AMRAP Event 2 - RX, For Time Event 3 - Scaled.

How is this going to be scored?

Each workout your team does will be scored from 1st to last place. 1st place gives 1 point and last place gives the total amount of teams we have in points. So if we have 11 teams and your team gets last, that is 11 points. If your team doesn’t start a workout, it is automatically given last place. If only 4 teams do a workout, then those 4 teams would get a score of 1-4 and the rest of the teams would be given last place points, i.e. 11 points in our example
